Wall Street & Technology also singled out changes at Freddie's IT department enabling its 1300 professionals to efficiency undertake numerous initiatives quickly and efficiently. Top initiatives cited in the magazine include ensuring technology portfolio sustainability, benchmarking against industry standards, supporting a mobile workforce, and slashing project cycle times for delivering business value.

"We feel a sense of urgency to get new technologies out to the industry," explained Lux. One example InformationWeek singles out is Loan Quality Advisor, which helps Freddie Mac customers identify outstanding issues before they submit a loan to Freddie with greater speed, more accuracy and lower cost.
