On this Veterans Day we pay special tribute to all veterans and we thank you for your service to our nation.

Today and throughout the year, Freddie Mac and its employees work to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families in a variety of ways:

  • Mortgage Relief Options: Freddie Mac provides mortgage relief options for service members and their families who have Freddie Mac-owned mortgages. We encourage servicers who handle these mortgages to offer our relief options and to leverage the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
  • Military Service Employee Resource Group: Our Military Service Employee Resource Group provides an important center of community for active service members, veterans, and their families across the company.  In addition to fostering a greater understanding on topics related to military professionals, group members also participate in a variety of activities – including recently welcoming the first all-female Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
  • Giving Back: Through our volunteers – the Freddie Mac Community Crew – we work with a variety of organizations to support veterans in communities across the nation.  In our recent month-long Serve initiative employees volunteered with organizations like Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas Operation Freedom, Operation Gratitude, and the Southeast Veterans Service Center to rehab houses, assemble care packages, and send personal notes to our troops and veterans.
  • Employment Opportunities: Through our V.E.T.S hiring program, we partner with New York-based Sharp Decisions to help veterans launch their civilian careers in IT. In a special segment, NBC4 recently featured veterans Seth and Toma who completed Sharp Decision’s intensive IT and software testing program and hit the ground running at Freddie Mac.
