Michelle, Freddie Mac Working Mother of the
Year and VP, with her children.
For the 12th time, Working Mother magazine today named Freddie Mac a top company for working moms.
Working Mother recognizes 100 companies annually that best support employees in integrating work and home life. "This year's class of winning companies goes the extra mile to support working moms and all diverse families," says Subha Barry, vice president and general manager of Working Mother Media. "The Working Mother 100 Best Companies continue to pave the way for employers nationwide to support their employees, both personally and professionally."
"Being named a 2016 top company affirms that we are successfully helping to support working moms – and really all parents at the company," says Megan Pierouchakos, Freddie Mac manager in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion and mom of three. "Even more so, this recognition allows us to honor all working moms who give their best on and off the job all year long."
This includes our Working Mother of the Year honoree, Michelle Bundy. Freddie Mac VP of the Enterprise Project Management Office and single mom of two, Michelle has always embraced a diversity of culture and ideas – and of stepping outside of the norm. These core values have fueled her success on and off the job.
As an officer and diversity leader at Freddie Mac, Michelle believes strongly in keeping employees engaged and interacting with each other. "We're a very diverse group," she says. "While organizational structure is essential, it's important for all employees to understand that we need collaboration and new ideas to keep us moving forward."
It's a philosophy she continues at home. Whether it's soccer, hiking, or travel, Michelle keeps her children active and is very active in their lives. She believes that by exposing them to diverse experiences, people, and cultures, they will learn to value the differences between people and become future voices for diversity and inclusion.
