With new home sales data out for May, we're currently running 17,000 home sales (non-seasonally adjusted) above the May 2013 rate keeping us on track for the best year in home sales since 2007.
Existing-home sales increased 5.1% from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.35 million in May. New home sales rebounded last month, and were up 2.2% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 546,000 units.
Currently existing home sales are slightly down 1.2%, and new home sales are up 20.8% compared to 2013 through May on a non-seasonally adjusted basis.
