With new home sales data out for September, we’re currently running 170,000 home sales (non-seasonally adjusted) above the September 2013 rate keeping us on track for the best year in home sales since 2007.
Existing-home sales rose 4.7% from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.55 million in September. Meanwhile, new home sales decreased 11.5% last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 468,000 units.
Currently existing home sales are up 2.8%, and new home sales are up 18.5% compared to 2013 through September on a non-seasonally adjusted basis.
