Inclusion Makes Us Stronger

Freddie Mac received the top score of 100 on the 2019 Disability Equality Index (DEI) and is honored to be named a "Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion" for prioritizing the inclusion of people with disabilities. Freddie Mac was recognized alongside 156 other companies. This is the fifth year in a row that Freddie Mac has been awarded this distinction.

The DEI is a unique, joint initiative of Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities. Designed and embraced by both business leaders and disability advocates, the index scores each corporation on a scale from 0 to 100— with 100 representing the most inclusive.

The 2019 DEI measured inclusion criteria including: Culture & Leadership; Enterprise-Wide Access; Employment Practices (Benefits, Recruitment, Employment, Education, Retention & Advancement, Accommodations); Community Engagement; and Supplier Diversity.

Freddie Mac's active ABILITIES employee resource group is dedicated to sharing disability and elder care resources with its employees and creating awareness and opportunities to expand our workforce by valuing people of all abilities. In addition, Freddie Mac has a robust supplier diversity program, supporting contracting opportunities at the company for certified disabled–owned businesses and veteran–owned service–disabled businesses.

"The DEI is designed to promote and advance disability inclusion practices and policies within corporate America that lead to better employment outcomes for and inclusion of people with disabilities, as employees, customers and suppliers. When businesses include people with disabilities, everybody wins," said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability:IN.
