We offer eligible first-time homebuyers up to $12,000 toward their home purchase to cover expenses such as their down payment, loan origination or discount points, and other closing costs.

- Health Care Spending Account: (HCSA) Employees may use the HCSA for eligible expenses that the health plans do not cover, or cover only in part, including deductibles and copayments.

Freddie Mac’s Thrift/401(k) Savings Plan is designed to assist employees in reaching their retirement goals. Employees can begin participating shortly after they are hired and become eligible for a 100 percent company match, up to the first 6 percent of pay, and a discretionary contribution after one year of service (based on company performance).
In addition to our Thrift/401(k) Savings Plan, we offer a traditional pension plan as part of Freddie Mac’s retirement package. As a company-funded plan, no employee contributions are required. Employees become eligible for the Pension Plan after meeting one year of service and attainment of age 21. The formula is based on pay and length of service. Employees can retire as early as age 55 (with a reduced pension benefit) provided they have five years of service; normal retirement is age 65.
Our Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) offers you a 15-percent discount on our company stock. You pay no brokerage commissions or service charges when you purchase Freddie Mac stock.

Freddie Mac offers POS plans, a consumer-driven health plan with health reimbursement accounts and HMO style plans that provide coverage for doctor office visits, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and more.
Freddie Mac offers dental coverage for you and your eligible dependents on a wide variety of dental services.
Freddie Mac’s Vision Plan provides coverage for eye exams, eyeglass frames, lenses and contact lenses.
As a new hire, employees accrue 10 days of vacation, 15 days if hired with mid-career status, or 20 days if hired as an officer. After their first year, employees may elect to purchase additional vacation time above their core accrual.
Freddie Mac observes seven scheduled federal holidays and four discretionary holidays each year.
Full-time employees receive eight days of sick leave per calendar year. Carried-over sick leave is capped at seven days for a maximum of 15 sick days.
Employees are provided up to three days of paid leave for the death of an immediate relative or household member.
Provides employees leave for jury duty or to comply with a subpoena or court order.
Freddie Mac employees are entitled to take leave from employment to serve in the Uniformed Services consistent with the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act. The continuation of benefits during leave and the right to be re-employed upon completion of such leave depend on a number of circumstances, including the duration of the leave.
Employees can take up to 30 days of paid leave to care for a newly adopted child.
The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) permits eligible employees to use up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave upon the occurrence of an employee's serious health condition or to care for an eligible family member.
Short-term disability coverage provides salary continuation benefits for employees that experience an illness or injury and need to be absent from work up to 180 days.
