About Rising Leaders
You can increase your opportunities for leadership, networking, and community engagement as a member of Freddie Mac’s Rising Leaders network. Our volunteer, employee-led organization allows you to develop leadership skills through on-the-job practice; creates an outlet to discuss, develop and enhance new ideas; and provides networking opportunities with colleagues throughout the company.
As a member of Freddie Mac’s Rising Leaders network, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong partnerships with leadership professionals throughout the organization.
This unique program promotes open communication with senior management, encourages personal development through a myriad of leadership conduits, and provides an environment that supports and rewards innovative thinking.
Our Guiding Principles:
- We share the common goal of developing leadership skills as part of a team
- Innovation is a corporate-wide responsibility
- Raising issues without proposed solutions is just complaining
- Leadership extends beyond the walls of Freddie Mac
- Honest feedback is a crucial component of development
- Personal gain is never acquired at the expense of others
Tap your talent for leadership.
Our network is led by a Core Team elected annually by our membership. They are responsible for leading the organization and driving strategic direction and also act as liaison to each of our five committees. As a member, these committees can offer you an outlet for your talents and initiative that complement your career goals:
Outreach – Gain experience leading and participating in initiatives that support philanthropic and corporate improvement activities, such as Carpenter’s Shelter, Holiday Drive, Hoops for the Homeless, MAC Week and our YearUp Mentoring program.
Education – Use a structured approach to educate members about leadership and provide opportunities to develop one’s skills, like our Leadership Speaker Series, Mentoring Programs, and Book Discussion Groups.
Innovation – Create tomorrow’s solution today by creating an outlet to discuss, develop and enhance innovative ideas. Among the programs sponsored are our Business Case Competition, Go Green Initiatives and Six Sigma initiatives.
-
Marketing & Communications – Collaborate with other committees to effectively market and communicate messages to serve Rising Leader’s mission through the Leadership in Action Newsletter and Web site updates.
-
Networking – Create a network within Rising Leaders, Freddie Mac, and the community with the common goal of leadership development. Committee-sponsored events include happy hours, awards banquets and even a softball team.
