Mentoring and Leadership Programs
At Freddie Mac, we value the unique skills and talents that you bring to the table. We want you to develop them, and use them to take our organization forward. That's why we offer the tools and resources you need to become the leader you are meant to be.
Our formal and informal mentorships, executive coaching and leadership programs offer you many opportunities to increase your confidence, enhance your effectiveness and build stronger leadership skills. They are just a few of the ways we show our commitment to your growth, and to developing a strong, diverse and inclusive workforce.
Mentorship Opportunities
We believe in helping each other achieve at Freddie Mac, and offer many opportunities to share your experiences – and learn from others' – through formal and informal mentoring.
You can make the kind of connections that help you move your career forward with a mentorship. They are valuable tools that can help you strengthen your skills and gain new insights. Informal mentorship opportunities are available through our Employee Network Groups and through the Division in which you work. And Freddie Mac provides mentors and mentees with online support tools to make their meetings more fruitful and efforts even more rewarding.
Freddie Mac's formal Mentorship Program was piloted in 2007 and is growing rapidly. Our first session was sponsored by the Women's Interactive Network (WIN). Subsequent programs have been sponsored by different Employee Network Groups and divisions of our organization.
The programs have a set 9-month framework, designed to help Freddie Mac employees:
- Share organizational knowledge
- Feel valued and engaged
- Develop and ready themselves for professional growth
Program participants have overwhelmingly rated the program as positive, with both mentors and mentees reporting more confidence, a higher level of engagement, and a more positive career outlook.
Developing Leadership
Freddie Mac offers many networking and educational venues that can help fine-tune your leadership skills, teach you to communicate more effectively, and even help you design your career path, such as:
- Lunch and learns with leaders from different areas of our organization
- Leadership panel discussions with members of our executive team
- Networking events that help you make the connections you need to take your career further
And our growing Leadership Development Program has helped men and women like you to capitalize on their strengths and achieve more in their careers.
If you're a Freddie Mac employee, you can learn more about the learning opportunities available right now from our Employee Network Groups or at our HomeFront employee intranet site
