Home Team Volunteers Take Part in National Rebuilding Day

On National Rebuilding Day, Freddie Mac’s Home Team volunteers helped fix up the home a family in need – joining in a nationwide effort to repair 10,000 homes in 200 communities.
Employees spent their Saturday outdoors painting, doing yard work and repairing cracks in the steps and sidewalk for the Jones* family. Mr. Jones had a stroke 30 years ago and has been in a wheelchair ever since.
“Freddie Mac is proud to be a long-term partner with Rebuilding Together Alexandria, and we are very grateful for this opportunity help Alexandria homeowners in need maintain their homes,” said Donald Holley (sixth from left in photo), a Freddie Mac Director and Rebuilding Together board member.
Holley, who serves on the Board through Freddie Mac’s Nonprofit Board Leadership program, noted that the volunteer efforts were in line with Freddie Mac's mission of supporting home ownership in America.
In the Alexandria community, 800 volunteers worked on 52 homes as part of National Rebuilding Day. Rebuilding Together provides services year-round to help the low-income, elderly and disabled veterans live safely and independently for as long as possible in their homes.
