Get the Facts on Homeownership
Our Get the Facts on Homeownership educational resources help break down barriers that prevent people from exploring the possibility of buying a home or keeping their home if they face foreclosure. By dispelling common myths on homeownership and foreclosure, we strive to give consumers the confidence and knowledge they need to take the next step toward sustainable homeownership.

We support the nation’s service members in a number of ways, including participating in workshops at military bases to help educate and counsel military personnel on buying and keeping a home.
Your Step-By-Step Mortgage Guide
Buying a home is an exciting experience, but it can also be overwhelming for borrowers who don’t understand the entire mortgage process. Your Step-By-Step Mortgage Guide helps borrowers prepare for homeownership by guiding them through the mortgage process from application to closing.
Mortgage Fraud Prevention
Freddie Mac's fraud investigation team has over 20 years of experience uncovering mortgage fraud and educating consumers on how to recognize and report it. As part of this work, we co-chair the Loan Modification Scam AlertTM, a national public education campaign to help homeowners protect themselves against loan modification scams, find trusted help, and report illegal activity to the authorities.
