Affordable Secondary Financing
Where Can I Find Affordable Secondary Financing Sources?
- HUD state-by-state listing of secondary financing sources
- HUD listing of approved non-profits that offer affordable secondary financing
Many state, county and municipal government agencies, as well as many nonprofit corporations and other sources, offer secondary loan programs that qualify under Freddie Mac's Affordable Seconds program in conjunction with Home Possible Mortgages and other designated programs. If you are a broker, consult with your wholesalers to identify qualified sources for Affordable Seconds. In addition, The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has a list of secondary financing sources that may provide this type of financing. HUD also provides the names and contact information for a limited number of approved non-profits that may also offer qualified affordable secondary financing. Freddie Mac cannot attest to the accuracy of information provided by these sites, does not approve or endorse these agencies, and does not represent that the organization's listed have eligible Affordable Seconds programs. Please refer to Freddie Mac's Seller-Servicer Guide for more information on Affordable Seconds eligibility.
