Freddie Mac Campus: Trainers' Biographies


EVE SULLIVAN
Eve Dotson Sullivan is the Director of Training for Freddie Mac's Single Family Offerings Development Department. She is responsible for Single Family education programs spanning Freddie Mac's business from originations to servicing. Eve leads a team located across the country that provides both classroom and distance learning training. She has been with Freddie Mac since 1995 and has held positions in various Single Family groups including Loan Prospector and Mortgage Purchase.

Eve holds a Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University and has a background in business process consulting, product development, and adult education. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Eve worked in the telecommunications industry and for the Federal Government. Eve is a native Washingtonian and currently resides in Northern Virginia.


AMY BYRAM
Amy has been with Freddie Mac for over 20 years, holding a diverse mix of positions throughout the company. Her background includes 10 years in Human Resources, with a focus on change management, organizational effectiveness, training techniques, teambuilding, and group facilitation. Amy has been certified as an instructor for many of the top training vendors in the country and has trained thousands of participants on topics related to leadership and personal effectiveness. She develops individuals into skilled trainers by improving their facilitation skills, and sharing training techniques that are dynamic, more engaging, and results oriented.

Amy holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.


ANGELA HSIA
Angela Hsia's experience spans more than 20 years in the mortgage industry, including ten years of comprehensive primary mortgage market experience and ten years with Freddie Mac.

Angela is supporting Freddie Mac's commitment to our housing mission by developing and delivering dynamic training programs that help expand homeownership opportunities for borrowers. Class participants regularly comment on her high energy, depth of knowledge, and skill in delivering information clearly and with humor.

Having joined Freddie Mac in March 1999, Angela's role as a Training Manager for Loan Prospector has helped national lenders, community bankers and brokers throughout the country, enabling them to understand and easily use all aspects of Loan Prospector, including functionality, underwriting policy and quality control.

Angela graduated magna cum laude from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA, where she earned a Bachelor Science in Business Management.


BILL GIBSON, JR.
Bill Gibson began his career in banking and mortgage lending more than twenty-five years ago. He has wide-ranging experience, having held virtually every position in the industry from Loan Officer to managing the AUS training program for a national mortgage insurer. Bill has been a certified Loan Prospector Trainer since 1999. He joined Freddie Mac in 2004 and has been teaching lenders and others in the mortgage industry about using Loan Prospector to efficiently and profitably originate and underwrite more loans.

Bill is a native of Cleveland and now resides in Chicago. He is a graduate of The Ohio School of Broadcasting where he majored in Broadcast Communications. Bill received his Six Sigma Green Belt in 2002.


ELIZABETH BOWEN
Elizabeth Bowen joined Freddie Mac in 1989 and for more than 12 years has been training Freddie Mac Sellers/Servicers on topics such as investor reporting, custodial account reconciliations, and our web-based selling system.

Elizabeth provides lenders with the details that make selling and delivery easier and more streamlined, and she helps servicers reduce reporting and remitting errors. Your month-end crunches will be easier to manage after participating in one of her classroom workshops, distance learning web conferences, or on-site visits.

Elizabeth is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and holds a degree in finance.


HELENE ALBANESE
Helene Albanese began her career with Freddie Mac in 1998. She has extensive experience in the mortgage business, including quality control underwriting. She is active in the development and facilitation of both classroom and distance learning sessions for Loan Prospector and other Freddie Mac products, including Home Possible and Credit Smart. She trains individuals with varying levels of knowledge and experience, helping National Lenders, Community Bankers, and Brokers to use all aspects of Loan Prospector, with emphasis on functionality, underwriting policy and quality control. Helene participates in customer conferences nation wide promoting Freddie Mac's housing mission of expanding homeownership opportunities.

Helene resides in Florida and has degrees in Journalism and Communications from Rider University in New Jersey.


NINA NICOLATSEAS
Nina began her mortgage-banking career more than 30 years ago, and now enjoys developing and facilitating workshops and seminars on topics that help others understand the complexities and nuances of underwriting and credit policy.

Nina has experience as a loan processor and underwriter, and since joining Freddie Mac in 1989, she has been teaching lenders and brokers about Freddie Mac's Loan Prospector AUS, underwriting guidelines, and mortgage products.

Nina is based in Chicago but travels all over the country to facilitate both classroom workshops and distance learning web conferences.


SUSAN THOMA
Susan Thoma has worked in the mortgage industry in a variety of roles and responsibilities—from origination to funding—for more than 15 years. She came to Freddie Mac in 1998 and performed quality control underwriting prior to joining the customer education team.

Susan is a very knowledgeable trainer who develops and presents distance learning web-conferences and classroom training about Freddie Mac's Loan Prospector automated underwriting service, credit policies and mortgage products.

A native of Northern Virginia, Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA.


TARA CONNORS
Tara has more than 20 years experience in the banking and mortgage industry. Since joining Freddie Mac in 1992, Tara has been helping Seller/Servicers with a variety of topics. She has more than 10 years of training experience in the areas of investor reporting, custodial account reconciliation, default management and the selling system. She has extensive experience in developing customized onsite and distance learning training for large National Lenders as well as Community Bankers. Currently she has been training servicers, lenders and housing counselors on various Default and Loss Mitigation processes and technology with a focus on helping borrowers stay in their home as well as how servicers can reduce foreclosure losses.

Tara's extensive knowledge and enthusiasm enables her to easily respond to customers' questions when doing business with Freddie Mac. Since it's inception, Tara has been a lead facilitator of distance learning training sessions about the selling system. Tara holds a bachelors of Science degree from George Mason University.


TOM DOMBROWSKI
Tom Dombrowski provides tremendous knowledge and expertise in support of Freddie Mac's CounselorMax. Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 2004, he provided CounselorMax training and technical assistance to housing counseling agencies across the country.

Tom gained his expertise in his field while working for the National Counsel of La Raza as a Community Development Specialist. There, his focus included assisting non-profit housing counseling agencies and increasing the homeownership rates for low and moderate-income borrowers. Tom has also worked as a loan officer and processor, having started his mortgage-banking career with Norwest Mortgage.

Tom's passion is to help keep borrowers in their homes, which he does by educating lenders and housing counselors about industry tools and programs that make this possible.

Tom earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Riverside.


TOM WARD
Tom Ward has more than 25 years of mortgage lending experience with originating and servicing loans, conducting settlements, and structuring workout programs for a $1.5 billion multifamily loan portfolio. Since joining Freddie Mac in 1986, he has focused his passion and creative talents on design, development and delivery of interactive training. Tom created two-day workshops for multifamily and single family servicing, led the first training workshop that introduced Loan Prospector to the industry, and was the architect and program manager for the Loan Prospector Certification Program.

Tom supports custom classroom workshops and distance learning web-conferences on mortgage products, Loan Prospector, underwriting policy and quality control. His training strategies support some of the largest national lenders and broker originators in the mortgage industry and enable them to achieve or maintain a competitive position within their targeted markets.

Tom holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics from Elmhurst College (Illinois) and, is pursuing a Masters in Instructional Systems Technology with Indiana University.


VANESSA HAIRSTON
Vanessa Hairston began her mortgage-banking career more than 20 years ago, in western New York State. She acquired broad experience as a processor, underwriter, and originator, and extensive knowledge from the primary market while working for a leading national lender.

Since joining Freddie Mac in 1991, lenders and brokers have benefited from Vanessa's ability to quickly understand their unique perspectives, processes, and needs. She continues training others about Freddie Mac's mortgage products, and programs such as FHA, VA, and Guaranteed Rural Housing, as well as how to use industry technology to make the home buying process easier and more accessible to consumers.

When you attend a web conference, classroom workshop, or customized training session that's facilitated by Vanessa, you'll especially appreciate her depth of knowledge about Loan Prospector, including functionality, underwriting policy and quality control.

Vanessa enjoys working with lenders and brokers to help them expand homeownership, teaching about lending options that can provide solutions for their borrowers, and enabling them to grow their business.


WAYNE FERGUSON
Wayne Ferguson has more than 20 years' experience in mortgage default servicing and loss mitigation. He now trains lenders and others in the mortgage industry about processes, technology, and resources that can help keep borrowers in their homes as well as help lenders to reduce losses due to foreclosures.

Wayne's experience also includes servicing of multifamily loans and real estate owned properties. Prior to Freddie Mac, Wayne worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in Washington DC.

Wayne has a degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Washington Bible College.


WOODY GRIFFITH
Woody Griffith came to Freddie Mac in 1998 after a 22-year career in the banking field, the majority of which was focused on residential real estate lending. Initially, in his role as a Loan Prospector Integration Manager, he worked directly with Freddie Mac's Sellers to learn their unique processes and help them integrate various automated risk assessment tools. As a trainer, he began instructing lenders and brokers about how to use Loan Prospector, and has also taught on topics such as of Freddie Mac's underwriting, selling and delivery requirements.

Woody is currently leading a team of trainers who enable the smooth adoption of Freddie Mac's newest technology platforms, such as the selling system and servicing system, which helps lenders efficiently process and profitably sell their loans to Freddie Mac. He is also responsible for Loss Mitigation training, which focuses on helping lenders keep borrowers in their homes.

Woody graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL with a MBA in 1992. Woody lives in Chicago, IL and is based in Freddie Mac's Chicago Regional Office.
