Loan Product Advisor® Third-Party Originator Sign-Up Checklist

Use this checklist to prepare for the Loan Product Advisor sign-up process and ensure that your request is processed quickly and efficiently.

Before you begin the sign-up process

Loan Product Advisor's Third-Party Originator (TPO) Number
  • If you don't have a TPO number, complete the Loan Product Advisor sign-up process to receive a Loan Product Advisor TPO number and password to submit loans through your sponsoring wholesale lender's loan origination system.
  • If you already have a TPO number, provide it during the sign-up process to affiliate your TPO number to your new sponsoring wholesale lender.
  • If you are not sure whether or not you have a TPO number, contact Customer Support Contact Center (800-FREDDIE). When calling please have your company name, address and tax identification number available so we can assist you promptly.
Merged Credit
Loan Product Advisor now requires the use of merged credit for all new customers. To access merged credit reports in Loan Product Advisor, contact participating credit reporting companies (CRCs) or their technical affiliates and establish service agreements for use in Loan Product Advisor with at least one of them (two or more is recommended) once you receive your TPO number.

Even if you have existing relationships with the CRCs, in order to use Loan Product Advisor's Merged Credit Report Options, you need to specifically update your account with your TPO number to access merged credit reports and/or reference numbers through Loan Product Advisor.

During the sign-up process

The sign-up process should take you approximately 8-10 minutes to complete. Complete the entire sign-up process in one session. If you exit midway through the process your data will not be saved.

Tax information. Provide your 9-digit tax ID number or Federal Tax Identifier (FIN).

Company name. Provide your full company name as it appears on your business license and your DBA, if applicable.

Primary contact information. The primary contact will receive all communications related to your Loan Product Advisor account.

User information. In order to create a unique user ID/password for each Loan Product Advisor user in your organization, you must provide the following information for every person who will be accessing the system.
  • Name
  • Telephone Number
  • Email
Principal/Officer Information. You need to provide the following information about the officer or person of authority who will be signing required documents:
  • Name
  • Title
  • Telephone Number
  • Home Address
  • Email
  • Social Security Number
Note: A maximum of two principal/officer names may be entered in this field during the sign-up process. Anything beyond this number will cause a system error and you may lose any entered data.

To complete your sign-up process

Required Forms. Fill out the following required documents during the sign-up process completely and accurately.
If you discover errors in your forms, or you have any questions, please contact Customer Support (800-FREDDIE).

Summary Page Review. Use the summary page to review all data entered and to make any needed changes. This is your last opportunity to make any changes to your submission. Please print this page for your records.

Confirmation Number. At the end of the sign-up process a Transmittal Cover Sheet will include your sign-up confirmation number.
  • Make sure the Transmittal Cover Sheet with your confirmation number is included documentation you mail to Freddie Mac.
  • Print an extra copy of this page and keep it for your records.
  • Have your confirmation number available when checking on the status of your sign-up request.
Forms. Sign and email, fax or mail these signed forms to Freddie Mac to complete the sign-up process. If you choose to mail your forms, we recommend that you use a mailing method that tracks your package delivery.

Welcome to Loan Product Advisor

Welcome Emails. After we've completed processing your paperwork, you'll receive a welcome email and we'll send:
  • Your primary contact a confirmation email that also includes the requested user IDs for your company.
  • Every user in your organization an email containing their individual password and personal identification number (PIN).
