Refinancing Through HARP with a New Lender

If you are interested in refinancing your Freddie Mac-owned mortgage under the federal Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) but your current lender does not offer the program, don't give up. Many lenders are available to work with you and determine your eligibility for HARP – even if you do not have an existing relationship with them. If you haven't contacted your existing lender about refinancing through HARP, we recommend doing that first. If your existing lender offers HARP, they will be able to provide you with a more streamlined refinance process.

Get Started

  1. Visit our secure Loan Look-up tool to see if Freddie Mac owns your loan.
  2. View our list of participating HARP lenders or, using our map below, select the state where you live to find lenders in your area who can discuss your refinance options and eligibility.

Important Notes

  • Our published list of participating lenders is not a comprehensive list of all Freddie Mac-approved lenders offering HARP as publication in the list is voluntary.
  • Lenders may use a different name for their HARP offering. If applicable, that name is included as part of their listing.

Because not all loans or all borrowers will qualify for refinancing under HARP and lenders may have different requirements, it is important to explore all refinancing options available to you before making a home financing decision.
