As head of Freddie Mac Multifamily, David Brickman, is responsible for more than $173 billion total multifamily portfolio, which includes the flow mortgage, structured and affordable mortgage, CMBS and low-income housing tax credit portfolios. Contact David
John Cannon has over 28 years of experience in the commercial real estate business, including serving as executive vice president of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage operations and overseeing Capmark Finance's loan production platform.
Debby Jenkins has over 20 years prior experience as senior vice president and senior underwriter in the CMBS division of Wells Fargo and partner and senior vice president in the CMBS and Mortgage Banking groups of Bloomfield Acceptance Company. She manages the underwriting and credit approvals for all multifamily debt investments and the underwriting and credit staff at Freddie Mac offices across the country.
Mike Lipson is responsible for $109 billion performing and nonperforming loans portfolio and mortgage operations of the division. He also has several years prior experience with Berkadia and Capmark Finance, serving as president and CEO of Berkadia’s Commercial Mortgage, and executive vice president of Capmark Finance, where he managed the master, primary and special servicing platforms in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
As Multifamily Chief Financial Officer, Bill Buskirk is responsible for the accounting, financial, and management reporting function of Freddie Mac’s Multifamily business line. Buskirk has been with Freddie Mac for approximately 11 years, and has served in various roles within Finance. Before joining Freddie Mac, he worked as an audit manager for Arthur Andersen LLP where he led various assurance and consulting engagements for a portfolio of Fortune 500 companies. Buskirk is a certified public accountant and holds the chartered financial analyst designation.
Kelly Brady — Vice President of Underwriting & Credit
Brady is responsible for all credit and underwriting functions related to the securitization of K-deals for Multifamily. She leads a team of underwriters that focus on loan level due diligence process required for securitization including rating agencies and investors. In addition, she is an integral part of Multifamily loan approval and structuring. Through her 15 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, including CMBS underwriting and execution, she has a strong understanding of real estate fundamentals, credit risk and CMBS markets. Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 2008, she held a vice president position at Wells Fargo in the Commercial Mortgage Group and underwriting positions with mortgage banking firm, Bloomfield Acceptance Company. Brady has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan.
Kim Griffith is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing, customer relations, and product development strategies for retail and wholesale targeted affordable debt and tax credit equity transactions. He also manages Multifamily's Affordable programs, including Bond Credit Enhancements for credit substitutions and refundings, preservation financings, and tax credit debt financings.
Edward (Ed) Hussey is the vice president of Multifamily Credit Risk Management in the Enterprise Risk Management Division of Freddie Mac. In this position, he is responsible for credit risk management of the Multifamily business line at Freddie Mac, including overseeing transaction authority for higher-risk Multifamily transactions above $50 million; the valuation, physical, and environmental risk functions for new loan purchases; and credit policy.
Robert Koontz — Vice President, Multifamily Securitization for Capital Markets
Koontz manages the Multifamily Securitization group responsible for the securitization of a variety of mortgage products. In this role, he is in charge of the securitization function, which includes packaging loans into K-deals and selling the securities to third party investors. In addition to the investor community, he works with the broker/dealers, rating agencies and servicers in bringing K-deals to the market. He is instrumental in the development of new securitization structures and other innovations to the securitization program. Koontz brings 14 years of commercial mortgage securitization experience as a deal manager executing fixed rate conduit and fusion transactions as well as floating rate, single borrower, single asset, seasoned, synthetic and franchise structured transactions. Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 2008, he held vice president positions at Wachovia Securities and Banc of America Securities. Koontz has Master's degree in Real Estate from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Finance from the University of South Carolina.
Tim O' Neill — Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Multifamily Real Estate Law
Tim O'Neill heads the Multifamily Real Estate Law group. He has 22 years of experience at Freddie Mac working in every area of the Multifamily legal practice including securitizations, targeted affordable and structured transactions, and servicing. Prior to Freddie Mac he worked in private practice at Blank, Rome in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Victor Pa — Vice President, Multifamily Investments & Advisory
Victor Pa manages Freddie Mac's more than $100 billion Multifamily and CMBS portfolio and the securitization and securities trading functions for multifamily mortgages and securities, including K Deals. He brings 20 years of experience to this position and has a strong background in portfolio management, structuring of mortgage cash flows, analysis of credit and market risks, and structured pricing.
Mitchell Resnick joined Freddie Mac as a Vice President in the Multifamily Division in November 2011. In this role he heads pricing for all multifamily loan purchases, capital deployment and marketing for all securitizations including the K-deal program. In addition, Resnick manages the relationships with securities investors and the broker/dealer community. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Resnick was a Vice President in the Real Estate Finance Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co in New York. In this role he was the co-head of the Capital Markets area where he was responsible for the pricing and distribution of commercial real estate loans. During his 15 year career at Goldman, Resnick also ran the Structured Products Syndicate Desk in London as well as the secondary CMBS trading book in New York.
Leanne Spies — Vice President, Multifamily Operations
Leanne Spies is responsible for the servicing operations on the $100 billion multifamily portfolio including loan purchase and funding, investor reporting and remitting, multifamily cash desk, records and data management, and operational close. Leanne also manages the Seller/Servicer eligibility, performance and audit reviews; and the multifamily Seller/Servicer Guide.In the past 16 years with Freddie Mac, Leanne has also held the roles of Senior Director, Asset Management, Governance and Control, Watchlist Management and Operational Oversight.
Susan Mudry — Senior Director, Business Management
Susan Mudry is responsible for business management, strategy, and offerings management for the entire Multifamily Division. Susan has been at Freddie Mac for 16 years, holding positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including leadership positions in all key areas of the company: portfolio manager in Investments & Capital Markets, controller director in Enterprise Risk Management, and senior analyst in Single Family structured transactions.
Lisa Stone — Senior Director, Human Resources, Multifamily
Lisa Stone provides HR leadership and support in Multifamily, Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit. She has been with Freddie Mac since April 2009. Lisa has over 15 years of leadership experience in Human Resources, specializing in: HR strategy, career development, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development/executive coaching.
Jim Kurtzke — Director, Multifamily Communications Strategy
Jim Kurtzke leads the communications and external relations team for the Multifamily business. The team conducts public relations, marketing communications, investor communications, employee communications, and government and industry relations. Jim joined Freddie Mac in 1993, and has worked in business marketing and public policy advocacy throughout his career.
The team is divided among four primary Seller regions, the Southeast, Northeast, Central and Western Regions. That expertise provides borrowers with a better experience through our collaboration with the Seller/Servicer during the quote and underwriting process to structure the deal.
Rich Martinez has a long and successful tenure with Multifamily, and he's been with Freddie Mac for 24 years. Rich first joined Multifamily's Central Region, where he spent 21 years and was Managing Regional Director until 2009. Rich relocated to McLean in 2009 to lead our Southeast Region, where he has managed a staff of 10 and annual production volume of over $3.75 billion for the last 3 years. Contact Rich
Steve Lansbury became the Senior Underwriting Director of the Southeast Region in 2007. Since taking on a management role, he has played an integral part in the success of the Southeast Region and has created process efficiencies, implemented change, and embraced the Freddie Mac securitization model. He has been in increasingly important management roles with Freddie Mac for over 15 years. Contact Steve
Nashwa Moussa — Director of Conventional Structured Transactions
Nashwa has 24 years of commercial real estate lending experience in the secondary market and direct bank lending prior to that. Nashwa joined Freddie Mac in early 2006, and since then has run the Conventional Structured Transactions group, growing it to about a $1.5-$3BN in annual production business with a current book of business of $10BN. In addition, she is responsible for all negotiated transactions as well as purchase of seasoned pools of loans. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Nashwa was a Managing Director at Fannie Mae, running various small loans production platforms. Prior to that, she was a Vice President with First Union National Bank (predecessor to Wachovia and now Wells Fargo) of direct commercial real estate lending in the Washington, DC market. Richard Katzenstein has nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience. He previously served as Managing Director of Tannery Brook Partners where he established an origination network in the Northeast, helped create an origination strategy for their business, and originated senior and subordinate debt for both multifamily and commercial properties. Previously, he held key executive management positions at several real estate finance firms including MMA Realty Capital L.L.C. and MONY Realty Capital, Inc. Richard is a member of various real estate organizations including the Real Estate Board of New York, Real Estate Lenders Association, Real Estate Finance Committee of New York, and the New Jersey Apartment Association. Tom Hamill — Regional Underwriting & Credit Senior Director Northeast Region
Tom Hamill came to Freddie Mac in 2007 as Senior Regional Underwriting and Credit Director for the Northeast Region. In June 2011 he took the role of Managing Director of Production for the Region. Tom stayed in the Managing Director role until October 2012 when he returned to the Senior Director of Underwriting and Credit position. With almost 25 years in the commercial mortgage industry, primarily in underwriting and credit, he brings a great perspective that provides considerable value in meeting our Seller/Servicer funding needs. Peter Giles joined Freddie Mac Multifamily in 1998, with experience working in the commercial mortgage banking industry, including for Great Lakes Financial Group, Mellon Mortgage Corp and Metmor Financial, Inc. He has served as the Central Region Production Director since 2007, leading and helping to expand his Chicago-based team and the expansion in Texas markets. Phil Cathlina — Regional Underwriting & Credit Senior Director Central Region
As Senior Director of Underwriting and Credit, Phil Cathlina leads the Central Region's underwriting staff and manages its underwriting and credit decisions. Since joining Freddie Mac in 1998, Phil has held positions in both Production and Underwriting where he has been a key contributor to the increase in volume and to the creation and implementation of new processes as well as securitization. Having held director level positions since 2007, Phil has played an integral part in the success of the Central Region. Contact Phil
Scott Croul — Managing Western Region Director of Production and Sales
Scott Croul has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience as a financial intermediary and lender, including 12 years as a Regional Vice President at John Hancock Real Estate Investment Group where he ran all loan origination and underwriting in the Pacific Southwest and led the company in production. He joined Freddie Mac in June 2010 and was initially responsible for underwriting and credit in the Western Region. Previously, he managed the regional underwriting team and worked closely with the production team to provide our Seller/Servicers with sound loan structures to facilitate loan origination.
