Multifamily Leadership Team Adds Senior Vice President of Asset Management

Freddie Mac is pleased to announce that Michael Lipson has joined the company as senior vice president, Multifamily Asset Management. In this newly created role, Michael will oversee all of the Multifamily Asset Management functions. Patti Saylor and the Low-Risk Loan team now report to Michael. Additionally, the High-Risk Loan teams led by Greg Stuart, Leanne Spies, Margaret Sacks, and Stephen Johnson also report to Michael.
With more than 35 years in the mortgage banking industry, Michael brings valuable insight and perspective as a former Seller/Servicer to his leadership of our Asset Management organization. Many of you might already know Michael from his prior role as president and CEO of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, LLC. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of Capmark Finance where he managed the master, primary, and special servicing platforms in the U.S., Europe, and Asia before assuming oversight of the origination, underwriting and closing of loans through Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae DUS, HUD, FHA, and conventional sources.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master's of Science in Real Estate and Urban Development Planning from The American University. He is also a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB). Michael brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Multifamily leadership team.
