DMS Security Enhancements Coming June 30

On June 30, the following new enhancements take effect in the Document Management System (DMS), making it more secure:

  • A new authentication page
  • Session timeouts
  • A log out menu option

New Authentication Page

As a DMS user, you will continue to enter your current user name and password. As of June 30, a “Forgot Your Password” link will be added to allow you to reset your password easily through a Password Reset email. Through this feature:

  • Passwords can only be changed by a person with access to the email account associated with the DMS account.
  • Password links must be used within a 24 hour time frame.
  • Password links can only be used once.

Session Timeouts

This new security feature will automatically terminate your session when there is no activity for 30 minutes. If this happens, you will need to re-authenticate to continue using DMS. Once you re-authenticate, DMS will remember and redirect you to your most recently used access screen.

If you enter data into a form and the session times out before you submit it, that data will be re-populated after the user re-authenticates. It will not be lost.

Log Out Menu Option

There will be a new log out button on the DMS menu bar, which will terminate your session and close the active browser window.
