Notice of New Tax Forms Required for Wire Transfers

Effective July 1, 2014, to comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), all payee entities establishing new wire transfer instructions with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ("Freddie Mac") and any existing payee entities wishing to change existing wire instructions must provide Freddie Mac with an executed IRS Form W-9 (U.S. Individuals/Entities) or IRS Form W-8 (Non-U.S. Individuals/Entities), as applicable, when submitting Freddie Mac Multifamily Wire Transfer Authorization (form 483M). To comply with FATCA, payee entities must use the most recently published versions of the applicable W-9 or W-8 Forms.

Signed originals or copies are acceptable. The forms should be submitted to the Freddie Mac Multifamily Cash Desk address or email listed below. The Cash Desk will retain these forms on file for future transactions.

Payee entities with existing wire transfer instructions that do not currently expect to make any wire instruction changes have until December 31, 2014 to provide Freddie Mac with an executed up-to-date Form W-9 or Form W-8.  Freddie Mac will send a reminder email as the deadline approaches.
