FREDDIE MAC TO PROVIDE MARKET UPDATE ON OCTOBER 3, 2006

McLean, VA – Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE) announced today that the company will hold an investor conference call to discuss the company's year-to-date business performance and preliminary financial results for the first half and second quarter of 2006 on Tuesday, October 3, 2006.  As previously disclosed, the company will not release full-year 2006 financial results until 2007.
