Updated Workout Prospector Bulk Upload Specifications
November 12, 2009, Single-Family Advisory E-mail
In our September 18, 2009, Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide (Guide) Bulletin, we announced the availability of the Workout Prospector® Bulk Upload Interface Specifications so you can build your system to eliminate manual entry of borrower data. As Servicers started to build their systems to have the ability to import loan data into Workout Prospector using a batch process, they asked us for clarification on some of the specification requirements. Today, we are following up on your requests and providing you with updated specifications. You may access the new specifications on the Home Affordable Modification program (HAMP) secure Web site using your Mortgage Servicing Products ID and password.
What You Need to Know
To provide clarity to the original specifications, we:
- Redefined what fields are required, conditional, and optional.
- Updated the data formats to the interest rate fields. For example, if a borrower has a six percent interest rate, you must upload the rate into the system as 0.0600; otherwise, Workout Prospector may reflect the upload value “6.00” as an interest rate of 600 percent.
- Clarified that Field One should be your Family Number and not your Servicer Number.
Tips for Using Bulk Upload Functionality
Follow these tips as you import loan data into Workout Prospector using the batch process:
- After you upload your loan data, double check all of the interest rate fields to ensure they are accurately displayed.
- Review the “Header Export Status Results” page after your upload is complete to ensure you do not have any errors before you run the data through Workout Prospector.
- When you submit current loans, it will take two upload files to complete. The first time you submit the loan data, only submit the first three fields. After 48 hours, you can submit the entire data file.
To provide you with additional assistance using the bulk upload functionality, we have updated the Workout Prospector Bulk Upload User Guide, which you can access on the HAMP secure Web site.
