Suspension of Evictions December 19 through January 2, 2012

December 1, 2011

Freddie Mac is temporarily suspending all scheduled evictions involving foreclosed occupied single-family 1- to 4- unit residences with Freddie Mac-owned mortgages beginning December 19, 2011 through January 2, 2012.

The suspension will apply only to eviction lockouts related to Freddie Mac-owned REO properties and will not affect other pre- or post-foreclosure processes.

As a reminder, while this does not affect other preforeclosure processes, Servicers should follow our Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide requirements, which could require suspending foreclosure sales on owner-occupied properties when the borrower is under consideration for a Freddie Mac foreclosure alternative.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to avoid preventable foreclosures for troubled borrowers with Freddie Mac-owned mortgages.
