Freddie Mac Extends HAMP and HAFA Through 2013

Freddie Mac will extend the Home Affordable Modification program (HAMP) and Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) initiative to December 31, 2013, as announced by our regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, in its January 27, 2012 press release. This extension also corresponds with the U.S. Department of the Treasury's program extension that was recently announced in a Supplemental Directive for non-GSE servicers.
For Freddie Mac Servicers, we will update the Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide (Guide) in a future Guide Bulletin to reflect the new expiration date and revisions to our requirements as a result of the program extension.
