Flyer on HFA Mortgage Assistance Programs Available for Homeowners

May 18, 2012

As you work with struggling homeowners who live in states hit hardest by the housing crisis and economic downturn, it is critical that they are made aware of assistance available through their state's Housing Finance Agency (HFA). To assist you, we created a flyer dedicated to explaining four of the available programs funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Hardest Hit Fund (HHF). You are required to participate in these four programs and should refer to Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide (Guide) Section 64.12 for recently consolidated information on these programs.

The flyer provides you with an easy way to communicate to at-risk borrowers about the HFA mortgage assistance programs that may be available to them and the role you play as they seek assistance from their state HFA.

When you download the flyer, simply customize it with your contact information and logo and distribute. With this customized approach, you can further ensure your commitment to helping borrowers avoid foreclosure.

Ideas for Using the Flyer

  • Distribute at home fairs, community workshops, or conferences where you meet with at-risk borrowers.
  • Include in your late notices to delinquent borrowers who reside in states that received funding through the HHF.
  • Distribute in your branches or lobby areas if your office resides in a state that received funding through the HHF.
