Freddie Mac to Retire EarlyIndicator on
March 29, 2014

April 5, 2013

Effective immediately, Freddie Mac will not be registering new customers for EarlyIndicator®, our Windows-based program used to predict loan delinquency. In addition, as of March 29, 2014, Freddie Mac will no longer offer our EarlyIndicator software to Servicers or service bureaus.

Freddie Mac developed EarlyIndicator to address a market need for predicting loan delinquency. At the time the tool was developed, it was considered advanced technology. However, the market has changed substantially since that time and several comparable tools are currently available to Servicers.

To provide users with time to transition, we are letting them know we are retiring EarlyIndicator one year in advance. We have already communicated the retirement to all Servicers and service bureaus who use EarlyIndicator. To ensure this process is seamless, we will:

  • Continue to provide EarlyIndicator data through January 2014, at which point Servicers and service bureaus will receive their final EarlyIndicator disk. The information on those disks will not expire until July 2014.
  • Discontinue billing for Servicers as of December 2013.
  • Support Servicers and service bureaus throughout the retirement process.

If you have any questions about the retirement of EarlyIndicator please contact your servicing account manager.
