Enhanced content and navigation for our online homebuying guide
Finding the information you need to educate your customers on buying and keeping a home just got easier. We’ve recently updated key areas of "Buying and Owning a Home," our online homebuying guide to help prospective and existing homebuyers better understand all phases of homeownership
Our updates include:
- Improving the accessibility of "Avoiding Foreclosure" by elevating it to top-level navigation, with a link directly from the FreddieMac.com home page. We've also expanded the content to include five full subsections related to foreclosure avoidance and mortgage fraud prevention.
- Enhancing the content on credit education to provide potential homebuyers with more in-depth information on establishing and protecting credit, along with a glossary of credit terms.
- Adding a "Managing Homeownership Post-Disaster" section with resources and tips to help homeowners minimize the risk to their homeownership and savings and get back on their feet quickly after a disaster.
- Providing more customer-friendly online calculators to help consumers evaluate the various factors that are important when buying a home and getting a mortgage. Some of the calculator tools now conveniently appear on the same page as the description of the mortgage scenario being evaluated.
Buying and Owning a Home is currently available in English and Spanish. This enhanced tool is one more example of Freddie Mac's commitment to making the dream of homeownership possible for millions of American families and helping borrowers succeed as long-term homeowners.
