Urgent action required for all MIDANET users
To help you provide more detailed reporting, MIDANET® for the PC will have two critical version updates between October 19 and October 26. These updates will require action on your part to ensure you do not experience reporting and loan purchase transmission delays beginning at midnight on October 23. To successfully update your computer, you should be on version 98.03.51 by October 15. As communicated in the September 18, 2009, Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide (Guide) Bulletin 2009-23, your system should be updated to support new file formats for Electronic Default Reporting (EDR) by October 26, 2009. The upcoming version updates will meet this requirement and facilitate more detailed reporting on all mortgages, including those modified under the Home Affordable Modification program (HAMP).
Confirm your MIDANET version
To confirm what version you are on today, visit the first screen after your broadcast messages or by following these simple steps from the main menu:
- Select Option 5 – Admin
- Choose 1 – Utilities
- Select 1 – View System Configuration
- Press Enter to view screen two, which will display your MIDANET version as CURVERSN.DAT = Release – 98. followed by 4 numbers indicating your version.
If you are not on MIDANET version 98.03.51, you can accomplish this by:
- Selecting Option 4 – Communications from the main menu.
- Choosing Option 1 – Receive Other Data.
MIDANET will then automatically download the next version available for your system. Please note, if you are several versions behind 98.03.51, you will need to repeat this action until you have reached this version. If you are currently using version 98.03.51, no further action is required on your part until October 19.
Action required on October 19
On October 19, all MIDANET users will need to update MIDANET to version 98.03.52. To accomplish this, follow the same steps you took to get to version 98.03.51. You have until midnight on October 23 to complete this update before the next one occurs.
Action required on October 26
The last upgrade, which will require all MIDANET users to update their systems to version 98.03.53, will provide MIDANET with the new EDR file formats. Once you update your system, MIDANET will prompt you to reboot your computer before you can proceed with transmitting data to us.
Don't get locked out
It is important to note that if you are not at least on version 98.03.52 by midnight on October 23, the system will not allow you to submit transactions to us. If this happens, you must call your servicing representative, selling system representative, or 800-FREDDIE to receive a diskette to update your version of MIDANET. It will take five to 10 business days to receive the diskette, and it may interfere with timely reporting for EDR, investor reporting, and loan purchase transmissions.
