Our appraisal standards and tools are in place to enhance appraisal data quality and consistency, promote the collection of electronic appraisal data, and provide important protections to homebuyers, mortgage investors, and the housing market.
As part of the Uniform Mortgage Data Program®, (UMDP®) Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have worked together at the direction of their regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to develop the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) and the Uniform Collateral Data Portal® (UCDP®) in an effort to enhance appraisal data quality and consistency and promote the collection of electronic appraisal data.
Appraiser Independence Requirements (AIR)
AIR is based on certain standards from the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (Code). The requirements ensure that we continue to maintain the highest standard of appraiser independence and appraisal reliability for the industry.

Freddie Mac's Home Value Suite is a set of valuation modeling tools that automate, streamline, and drive down the cost of collateral valuation.
Home Value Explorer® (HVE®)
Our Automated Valuation Model (AVM) tool that generates property value estimates for all 50 states with a database of approximately 81 million property records.
Home Value Calibrator® (Calibrator)
Calibrator is a quality control tool that measures the risk that an appraisal, or other estimate of a property value, exceeds the actual market value.
